Thank you so much for speaking about your experience before, during and after the holocaust. My daughter Courtney has been learning about the holocaust and she comes home talking about it; we have purchased books about the holocaust too. I purchased your book today and have begun reading it. You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your life with us!

How can a book be so graphically disturbing and yet uplifting at the same time? I had met Stephen Nasser (Pista) before I read this book. It was evident that the man was very intelligent, extremely passionate and determined to help make a difference in this world, especially in the appreciation of family values for our young people and youth. The book is well written, very visual and unfolds like a movie. I already knew about the horrors of the Holocaust, but the book made me very angry when it placed me so “up close and personal” with brutal, evil behavior that the human race should be incapable of forcing on other humans. But Pista’s firsthand account of how he ultimately survived with the help of his brother’s voice became very uplifting, and a hopeful lesson for the future of mankind. Even though Pista’s brother Andris died in the concentration camp, his voice continued to prove that with powerful love, determination and will power you can bring yourself out of any darkness and into the light. This book should be required reading in all of our schools.

I think Mr. Nasser is a very wonderful person. I thank him for coming to Mark.L Fine Elementy school to talk the fifth graders. I like the book my brothers voice a lot. It's one the best book i've ever read. I was so happy to meet a surviver from the Holocaust.I was so consatrated when he was speaking. I think it is very sad and cruel that the germans would treat people that way.I almost started to cry because i've never thought that would happen. I think that he diserved to live because he is a true HERO!!!!!

Dear Stephen Nasser,
Thank you for coming to millcreek and talking to all of us. I kinda know how you feel about being away from your family because I'm in foster care and this isn't the first time I have been in foster care so i kinda know what if feels like to be away from your family ,it's very hard but I dont get beaten or anything and I get good and healthy food . I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of that. I think that you didn't deserve it no one should have to live a life like that. I'm just happy that you made it through all of that and are still alive and I'm glad that you wrote a book on how your life was like that I wouldnt have been able to go through all of that. I would have probably been tempted to kill my self knowing that my family is dying and then watching my brother die, that must have been so hard for you watch my brother die. I would cry for days. I just wouldnt be able to stand going through all of that and like i have said I'm really sorry that you had to. I wish that it never even happend. People are just mean like that and I really hope that it will never ever happen again. When you told me your story it really hit me. I never knew how important life was till now. I thought I wouldnt be able to make it through foster care with out my mom and dad but hearing your story i know I can cause it's not even close to what you had to go through. I'm just thrilled that you shared your story with me and I really loved it and I think that everyone should read your book so then they can know how easy life. I'm just really glad that you opend up to everyone, thank you for sharing.
