    Dear Mr. Nasser,
You visited my school, Bishop Gorman, about two weeks ago. Over the years I have read many different Holocaust books, but yours is by far the best. You have inspired me to never give up. You are one of the strongest people I have ever met/known about. I look up to you and am proud that I got to read your book. I have passed the book onto my friend and told her to read it. Thank you so much!

  18. Alexis V. says:

My Brothers Voice was an excellent book. It can make you cry, or laugh. It is filled with many adventures that are based on a true story. Some of the events that occur in this book are unimaginable.
In the beginning of the book it tells what happened on their way to the concentration camp. What they were able to bring wear or eat. It told of what happened to some of the unl;ucky ones when they arrived at the camp.
Around the middle of the book is when their families got split apart. All of the women and children went to one side and al of the men went to the opposite side. It tells when they transfor camps and what they had to do to satisfy the S.S. Also, what happens when they get sick and they cannot work anymore.
Then the ending of the book was great but I canot spoil the ending.

    :]

    Dear Mr. Nasser,
It was a pleasure to have you at our school Wilbur & Theresa Faiss middle school. It was a life changing excpirience. Reading your book has reminded me how good I have it in life. I didn’t realize until now. I constantly complain if I don’t get what I want that week. And feel that I have the worst life in the world and couldn’t get worst. Then listening to you that day I know that you went through all of that and took it. You never complained. You really have changed my perspective. Thank you for this lesson that I will never forget this.
    Sincerely,
    Elena C.<3

I took my 3 sons to hear your speak at the library. You had such a profound effect on them. They left that day with a deeper appreciation of each other. For that , I am grateful. I then read your book. I learned so much from your amazing strength. I also am confident that God was looking out for you and your brother was too. I thank you for your efforts in educating people not only on the horrific details of the Holocaust but also on the benefits of never giving up, no matter what the circumstances may be. Your book is an amazing tribute to your relationship with your brother. Thank you for being the epitome of a “survivor”!

  25. Haeli Fields says:

In reading this year we read several novels, my personal favorite was “My Brothers Voice,” because it was informational, educational, and intriguing all at the same time. I also enjoyed it because it was based on a true story so I knew all of the events truly happened. The greatest thing about it was that we got to meet Mr. Stephen Nasser.
I learned a lot from this book and it helps me with everyday problems. One thing that I learned was that it’s not funny to call someone a “Jew” because it could lead to the next genocide. Also I learned the real facts about the Holocaust, before I read “My Brothers Voice,” I would walk around acting like a Nazi. Now I realize that the Nazis were horrible people and that the Holocaust is not a laughing matter. It also helps me with a lot of problems because it taught me that I should never let some on hurt me mentally, it taught me to be strong.
I am very glad we read this book because it really helped the whole class bond and get to know each other. I just wish we would have read this book earlier in the year so we could have read all of it before school ended.

  26. Ashley Kohls says:

Ive realy enjoyed reading this book! Its taught me many things but the one thing ive learned the most is to live life to the fullest everyday. Cause if he can survie the holocaust i can get throw all the tuff times. i love this book its amazing and might teach you many things. Mr.Nasser you are a very imspring person to have lived through that and still live life to the fullest. YOU GO!

  27. Ceceleah(; says:

Well, i guess i am about to say everything I feel about this book. Okay so the first time i say it i Thought it was going to be LAME. but im being completly honest! this book is amazing.it’s so Awsome. it Thought me so much about the Holocaust, & ive read alot of books on the Holocaust, but this book actually shows what pista felt. I am in love with this book! Good luuucccckkk Pista :D <3

  28. Quartario says:

I really like your lecture you did Friday. If you have anytime can youu e-mail me i would really like to talk to you sometimes.:)

  29. tatiana says:

This year in reading class we have read several novels and the one i enjoyed the most was, “My Brothers Voice”. I enjoyed “My Brothers Voice” the most because it tells a story of how a teenager survived such a horrible ordeal. The book only tells you one story of the Holocaust, but in truth there are millions of stories. Mr. Nasser told us his story about what him and his family went through even though bringing up old memories about the Holocaust probably caused him great pain. We need to be thankful of Mr. Nasser’s great courage to stand out and speak of his painful childhood. No one especially not a child should ever have to go through something that horrible no matter what the reason.
What i have learned from reading “My Brothers Voice” is that even in your weakest moment you can survive if you tell yourself you can. The strength it takes from inside you to stay alive. The Holocaust wasn’t just a story left in time it was real the people were real what they went through was real. No one made this up as a cruel story to scare people this really happened to millions of people. Mr. Nasser’s book taught me that even a weak person has the strength to survive if they really want to. Even though Mr. Nasser was only 13 during the Holocaust when he lost his brother, Andris. His brothers death pushed Pista to live. Watching Andris die in his arms with a smile on his face kept him going. Even though he was ready to die his brothers voice wouldn’t let him. Andris left earth but he never left Pista’s heart and there he will forever live.

    Dear Mr. Nasser,

Thank you for coming to Molasky Middle School to talk to us about your life in the holocaust. We are still reading your book and it is very good. When you were talking to us about what you went through and your family, it made me open my eyes and realize that i should never take my life for granted or my family and to never quit on something you love. You are a very big inspiration to me and i could feel what you went through and i thank you for talking to us.

  31. Matthew B. says:

  33. breanna boman says:

My favorite book that we read this year is My Brothers Voice. i like this book out of the other two for many reasons. One reason is that it is about the holocaust. i really like the holocaust because you can not repeat what had happened. Also in this book pista is a survivor and he learns new things like in the camps where he had to work constantly.
in this book he is put though the most horrible acts that should never be done again. but in this story he becomes stronger and smarter. and he is always using his head. there are many other reasons i like this book. but my favorite part is when the author him self Steven Nasser came to talk to us and that is why i like the time I spent reading the book My Brothers Voice.

  34. This year i have read 3 books in my reading class, which are “The Great Turkey Walk”, Becoming Naomi Leon”, and “My Brothers Voice”. I have chosen My Brothers Voice. I have learned many things while reading this book, like freedom is not free, and don’t be rude to other people because they aren’t the same race as you. While reading this book i have learned that the Jewish people had to do a lot of work and get very little food, because Adolf Hitler did not like the Jewish people for some reason. There were these people called the Nazis that worked for Hitler and they would kill people that were in the holocaust for no reason, just because of there race. This book has really made me think a lot. Like to always be with my family just in case something happens and i lose them. The main character in this book is Pista and he has survived the holocaust but with help. He had help from his brother Andris, but he couldn’t help him through everything, because he died of starvation. He got separated from his mother and she also died. He lost a lot of his family during the holocaust. Once he got out of the holocaust he had ran into his uncle and his uncle has asked him if he new where his wife and son were. Pista couldn’t tell his uncle where they really where because it was a horrible experience for him and his uncle, so he had to keep his secrets from his uncle until he died. He couldn’t write this book for 50 years because his uncle lied a long life. I am from Molasky JHS

  35. Katie says:

I would like to thank you for being so generous with your time because listening to what you had to say changed my life and how I look at The Holocaust. Thank you Mr. Nasser for writing “My Brothers Voice”. It changed my life because now when I get hurt by friends I think about how much pain you went through so it really doesn’t hurt as bad. Also it makes me remember and appreciate my family more because at any second I could possibly lose them. I am from Molasky Junior High School and you kindly came and talked to us last week.

  36. Dylan says:

I would like to thank Pista Nasser for taking your time off to visit us at Molasky Junior high. What you went through and how you concored it is very inspirational. Once again all i have to say is thank you for telling us from your eye what happened at the holocaust.

  37. My favorite novel that I have read this year was ” My Brothers Voice ” by Stephen Nasser. Only because this made me realize that I need to be more responsable and appriciate the things that I have in my life that Jews didn’t have at all. I learned that the Holocaust was pretty much about race. Hitler KILLED every jew he could only because he hated them. At first i didn’t even know what the Holocaust was until Mrs. Raskin brought it up. I put myself in the jews places and realized that the fighting I do with my brother and sister is stupid saying “I hate them” but if that were to happen to my family I wouldn’t know how to survive with out them. I am thankful that i have my family together and that we didn’t have to go through that. People say the Holocaust is stupid and it doesn’t matter or that it never happened, well then you don’t understand the pain and suffering that these “dead Jews” had to go though. they could just walk down the street and get shot. Why? or for what reason? there doesn’t have to be a reason the SS Soldiers can just do it with out a reason. People realize after they read the story how thankful they are. IF you actually read the story and you still act the same then you don’t care about the problems that have happened that you are now thankful for. That is why “My Brothers Voice” is the best story read this year.

  38. Luis says:

My favorite novel we read in this class was “My Brothers Voice”. The reason for that is because it`s the most interesting novel that we have read in this class. Another reason I really like this book is because it is about the holocaust which I find is very interesting. I learned from reading this book is that at anytime something like that can happen. Another thing I learned is to appreciate what you have and who you have because you never know if your gonna lose it or them.

  39. the novel that i have enjoyed the most is MY BROTHER VOICE. it is a excellent book.
i have learn many things, it has change my life and i like it, i know my history about all of the hard work and what they been thought a lot and it is very hard and- sad he did a lot and try to help a lot and he made it thought and he did not eat right and was hungry but this story has change my life a lot and thanks mr. nasser
we have read three book and i have choose MY BROTHER VOICE and that is the one that i have enjoy the most of all and thanks you agiafn for write this story.

  40. Champagne says:

I loved the way you did your speech. it really touched me. I really do love the book. It can be really funny and serious. that book was really good.

  41. Mr.Nasser my name is nathanael or Nathan in English. I am a big fan of your book although I’m 13 i don’t understand all the suffering you took but what i do understand is heartbreak. God knows how many books I’ve read but your book is the absolute best! I think its amazing what you’ve been through and i hope it can be a movie some day it can be a movie not for merely entertainment but to tell people your struggles your history.

  42. Hayley says:

Mr. Nasser you are an inspiration to me and my fellow classmates. You came to My school Molasky JHS last Friday {5/21/10}and you were awesome! your book is an amazing diary and thank you for staying determined throughout the holocaust. without you the world would probably not have known about the terrible event that is the holocaust. when you came you talked to us asked us to give our family a hug for you and i did just that you truly an inspired me you are a great citizen. keep it up!

  43. Dear Mr.Nasser,
When you came to our school at Molasky JHS, and you talked to us, it really changed the way i live, like when i always say i hate my life and wish it was better, than i think about what u said. I always think that my life was horrible but yours really was and comparing the both of our lives, i think i had the better one and should thankful for how i live. And should be happy about what my parents buy me or give me, because at least im getting things.

  44. I enjoyed “My Brothers Voice” was my most enjoyably book i ever read. It made me really think what happened in the holocaust and i learned many things and tortures they did to the Jews. Many things that they did in ww2 and pista challenges in the camps and all the 6 million died. More with many children dieing and the sick with all the gas chambers.People say that the holocaust it didn’t happened many people are shocked because it happened and killed over 6 million Jews when their completely innocent and didn’t do anything to the Nazi’s.Steven Nasser got shot and tortured many times more than the books says for no apparent reason at all. While his brother had to help pista though all the hard times and beatings he got but when Andris died he had to go on with his life and try to survive the camps and the allies finally came and ended the war.Thank you for coming to our school.

  45. dear MR.Nasser thanks you for coming to my school you help me a lot so thanks you for every thing and i did what you say to hug my mom and say i love you and than i hug her again and said it was for you thanks you for changing my life a lot and i will try to help you a lot as i can by telling every one about your story. thanks you so much and i hope to see you again

to the friend who read your book,
    ANDREW BARTON

  46. Dear Mr. Nasser thank you for coming to Molasky junior high to tell your survival story about you making it through the tragedy of the holocaust. During your presentation you helped me appreciate life more, thank you.

  47. Thank you for visiting Molasky junior high school. I think it was kind of you to come to Molasky and share your sad story of what you and your family went through in the Holocaust. Many people wouldn’t be brave enough to talk about things like that, definitely when their entire family died. Once again, thank you for your time.

  48. Kylie Nebeker says:

This year in Mrs. Raskins reading class, I have learned many things. We have read several novels in this class. Like The Great Turkey Run, Becoming Naomi Leon, and My Brothers Voice. The book that taught me the most information and that I liked this year would be My Brothers Voice.

The reason that this book has taught me most information, is because Stephen Nasser lived through the Holocaust and is still alive to tell the story. I have learned that you should never give up, even if you loose everything in your life. I also learned that some people may not seem what they are on the outside. You need to dig deeper and find who they really are.

thank you so much Mr. Nasser for speaking at our school(Molasky JHS)the other day.

  49. Demarco Adamson says:

We have read sevarel novels in this class. The one I enjoyed the most was,”My Brothers Voice.” It was about a guy named Stephen Nasser who was in the holocaust with his brother named andrais. Him and his brothers were in bad camps that killed many people. But Stephen Naser was the only person out of his whole family to survive. The camps that Stephen Nasser was in only gave little food and the prisoners had to work without water, food nothing at all. Over 6 million people had died in those camps. I learned that we need to be thankful for what we have because Stephen Nasser doen’t even have a family. And I learned that we shouldn’t bullie. Bullying could hurt the people whom we are bullying. Just like how the nazi’s that took over the camps would shoot the jews for no reason at all, they would even kill them. That is what I’ve learned the the book I enjoyed the most.

    Demarco,Molasky Junior High School.

  50. Asialynn Villanueva says:

Thank you Mr. Nasser for visiting Molasky Junior High. It is very nice of you to come to our school with your busy schedule you had that day. It was very kind of you to share your sad story and your loss at our school. The Holocaust was a very important event in history and for you to tell us in person about it is a honor. Your book made me learn many things about the Holocaust and I will never forget it. It is very hard for some people to talk about their loss, especially when their whole family is dead. I am sorry that you lost them and I hope that they are resting in peace. Meeting you and letting you talk to us is an honor. Thank you.
