Out of all the books i read this year in reading “My Brothers Voice” was my favorite to read. My Brothers Voice has historical and ‘edge of your seat’ events. I enjoyed reading the book. Then when the author ‘Mr.Nasser’ came to talk to our class it was very kind and very cool. When I finished reading Mr.Nasser’s book I realized that the life I have now is awesome compared to what Adris and Pista had to go through. I am very happy that I got the chance to read ‘My Brothers Voice’ by Stephan Nasser. It has opened my eyes to see what i have in front of me. I am so grateful that I got Mrs.Raskin as my reading teacher.
Thank You Mrs.Raskin for an awesome year!

This year i have read three novels out of the three one has caught my attention, that novel was “My Brother’s Voice” by Stephen Nasser. From this novel i have enjoyed the expression and detail poured into the pages of the book from the author’s heart. I learned from this marvelous novel that must never give up no matter how bad the odds are. Another thing i learned from this is that you must treasure your family stick together and show nothing but love to your closest family members like author shows in the story. Also in this story i have learned all the most disgusting attitudes and actions from the Nazis. Also that it unlocks all the horrifying ways the Nazis used to torcher the Jews. It also shows the hights the Nazis would climb to kill of the Jews and torcher them as much as they could. In conclusion those are my most strong supporting details on why i chose this novel out of the three others. (Molasky JHS)
Out all the books i red this year my favorite one has to be My Brothers Voice it has a lot of thrilling scenes and things that keep you guessing and he tells his story with a lot of details so you can picture it in your mind. Mr.Nasser came to speak to our class about how he survived the holocaust he gave us a lot of info so we could picture the moments in our head.
He wrote his for his brother and to tell people how awful it was and he always says never forget!

This year l have read several novels in my reading class. My favorite was “My Brothers Voice”, by Stephan Nasser .
l learned that you may think you have the worst life and you hate your parents, but compared to what Pista and Andris had to go through, our life seems like heaven .
Pista and Andris were seperated from their mother, and most of us get to see ours every day . They don’t have a place to call home really, and we do . In concentration camps, you don’t eat anything good and have small portions, while we get to eat like there’s no tomorrow.
l have realized that some people are treated terribly, some for no reason . And it doesn’t matter what race you are, you’re a human being and you should deserve to be treated equally, instead of as if you’re a wittle feather
This year in mt reading class I have read several novels.
The novel that I have enjoyed the most would be My Brother’s Voice.
What I have enjoyed from reading My Brother’s Voice. The things you learn about world war 2 is how the Nazi’s made people ware yellow stars and be humiliated. Also by seeing how they treated the Jewish people back when the world war 2 was going on.The Red Cross would come and check up on the Nazi’s and see how they were treating the Jewish people. When they heard that the Red Cross would show up they didn’t know who they were.
The Nazi’s wanted the American’s to belive that they took good care of them. But in their reality they were mean, foul, and cruel to the Jewish.

Out of the several novels i read this year, my favorite was My Brothers Voice. I liked it because it actually talks about something serious that happened to real people. It talked about this boy named Pista, his brother named andrais and how they went through the Holocaust together. It talkes about the things they saw and went through it.
The things i learned from this book is that life is a precious thing and you dont need to live your life worrying about the bad things that may come your way. You just need to live your life being happy and that your time will come to go when god wants it to. MOLASKY JHS
We read several novels this year, but my favorite was my brothers voice. What was learned from this novel was that bullies that hurt innocent people are cowards. Like when the Americans were coming the Nazis ran away. That shows a bunch of bullies being cowards. this is a very mean, but interesting story on how Jews were treated. This novel was the best! molasky jhs
Dear Mr.Nasser
Thank you for talking to us about your book “My Brothers Voice”. It was nice that you came to our school and talked to us on your own time. Thanks you again for coming
Mr.Nasser
Thank you for coming to my school Molasky JHS. Your lecture motavated me to go home and explain to my little brother why we should never let it happen again. I am a German American and i apologize for Germanys actions.
hello mr nasser i really enjoyed your presentation it made me relize how important family is. when you came to my shcool molasky junior high school i litarly started cryin espicailly when you said give a hug to your mom or dad and tell them that you love them and when you said give another one and tell them this one is from mr nasser cause he has no family to hug. im really sorry you had to go through all you did but like people say everything happens for a reason and i guess your reason was to spread your story around and let people know what rasism is. I think you did an amazing job with your presentations i’ve seen you speak twice and all those times i herd you voice just got to me. Well thank you mr nasser and i hope your story lives on
Dear Mr.Nasser, thank you for visiting our school, my friends and I cried when you told us to hug our parents and we did. We enjoyed your book while we read it in class it is very motivational to hear what you went through at such a young age. We hope you live many more years to come. Sincerely,Nicole Reynolds
hello im glad you came to Molasky Junior high to share your sad story about what you and your family had to go through during the holocaust i cannot wait to read your book about it thank you for visiting us here at molasky jhs
Mr. Nasser, thank you for visiting our school and sharing your experiences about the holocaust. Although you have had tragic experiences, you still spent your time with many schools to educate us. What you had said about freedom and family had inspired many people including me. “My Brother’s Voice” is a very inspiring book. I had enjoyed reading this book with my class. It had changed the way I think about life and I think it might have changed the way other people think about life too. Again, thank you for your time.
Dear Mr. Nasser,
I have heard many things about the holocaust and I thought it was just a other dramatic event in the world that I never got to see. Ever since I read your book, all the thoughts and feelings I had about the Holocaust have changed. I now know what you had to go through. The pain, sobs, and struggles. Your book has educated me in many ways. You survived death countless times as a child because you believed in yourself. I don’t know about you but I think that’s pretty awesome. I feel really sorry that out of everyone in the world, you and thousands of other people were treated poorly because you were jewish. You have such great courage to open up and tell your experince in the Holocaust because I know it’s hard to tell anyone such a horrible memory. Best of luck to you in the future. Never let the past bring you down.
-Student of MJHS
Hello. Thank you for coming to Molasky JHS on Friday, May 21, 2010. I think you did an amazing job with your presentation and book. I cried at your presentation. Your words just went right through me and hit my heart. I am almost done reading your book. This will be the second time I will be reading it. And I am sure it won’t be the last. I am jewish too, and I wear the Star of David on my finger. I am so proud of you that you got through the Holocaust. Not everyone can do that, evidently. I hope your story is told around the world. Everytime I see your book on my shelf I think of you and when you said,”Never again”.I hope you live a happy life with your wife.
NEVER AGAIN.
Sincerly,
Steffany Goldberg
Mr.Nasser,
Thank you for coming to Molasky JHS on Friday,May 21,2010. When my teacher told us you were coming to speak I was thrilled .When you told us to give our parents a hug for you because you couldnt give your parents a hug, I cryed silently. Thank you for showing me what you have been through, thank you for taking your time to come and speak to us.I love your book my favorite part of the book is when the American soilder gave you a piece of bubble gum.
Sincerily,
Marissa Barrientos
We have read so many novels. My favorite one was, My Brothers Voice. I learned about how German’s treated Jew’s they treated them like trash. Having to read a book like that was a great experience some parts in the book made me cry but When Mr.Nasser spoke to us about the holocaust when he was there he must of had a lot of courage he was crying he had a lot of pain in his self he will be traumatized for life! Having to go through that is atrocious. One thing he said that REALLY made me think was If your a bully your basically a coward. What he had to go through. Every time i think about it bothers me a lot and when he was speaking, it was like I could see what he saw it was like i was there with him the whole time… It was like making a puzzle in your head i will never forget the experience. thank you Mr.Nasser!
There have been many books that i have tookin’ the time to read, but I do have a Favorite Is “My Brother’s Voice” This book is very inspiring. It teachs everyone about The Holocaust Wither your a teacher or A student. Even if you have heard or learned about The Holocaust before & i’ve read books on the subject, But this book actually shows you what its like in Pista’s eyes not what people have heard & decided to write a book about it. You can kind of relate if you get “bullied” or pushed around by other children, Its actually what he felt He’s emotions, what hes brother was feeling at moments, moments when Pista (the author) wasn’t even awake from getting beatin by the SS soilders. This book also has great detail & helps me to understand more about the Holocaust & to give thanks, sympathy,& the up most respect to mr.Nasser (author.) For staying brave & helping he’s brother as much as he Possiable could, not even worrying about hes self. He has been through so MUCH & this Amazing book really shows it, i love reading this book might i mention we haven’t even finshed the book yet, but i just know this book is absolutly outstanding. It coprates every thing you could have in a book; Sadness, Romance, Dread, Death, Happiness. It made us Litterally cry. thats how much it makes you think. I really do love this book, i hope to read it again. Maybe i will become a teacher & show my Students this book so they can learn as much as I did & pass it on. <3 (:
This year we have read several books and “My Brothers Voice” is my favorite. I have learned many things from that book. One of the things that i learned from reading “My Brothers Voice”, is being brave. In the story, their are 2 little hungarian boys, pista and andris, that was in the holocaust around 13, and the nazis treated them very baddly, they got beatings, little food, and much more. But they never gave up in believing that there was stoll hope in getting out of the holocaust,
They had a pretty tough time. Their mom died, and many more of the people that they loved. The nazis didnt care about them one bit. They would stuff them in smelly old box cars and had nothing but a little bucket to pee nd waste in. Latter in the year, pistas brother andis died because he went to a death camp where all they give you is is a waterey like substance which i guess they call it stew. But as you see, the nazis didnt care about the jews and they would just treat them like trash.
But through it all he learned to just be brave, and to know that everything will turn out to be just fine no matter what, through thick and thin. and i think its going out to all children to be brave and to know to think positive.
the novel that i like the most is my brothers voice.i like it better than any book that iv read this whole year.to me this book teaches me more value of life because it could be tooken away from me at anytime.
its way better than any other book.it tells what the jews went through for years and they had to go through with it,because there lives were in danger more than anyones, every jewish person were in danger weather they were in the camps or not.
well to me when we first started to read this book i thaugt i wasnt going to like it ,it was going to be boring but as we got more ninto the book i like it and i didnt want to put the book down i wanted to keep reading and see what was going to happen.the way the book was writen its like u were there the smells he discribed, the beatings he discribed i felt like i was there when he discribeed his last words his brother said to him i feel like i was there i could picture all of this in my mind.
when people say you dont know have until you lost it . its true because when oyu loose a person you really love its hurtful because you think of all the things you could have done but you cant because there gone and theres nothing you could do about it but live life like you were going to loose it this very second, because there are people out there who just lost theres and family is suffering.so live life for others and yourself.
GradeWaiting for grade…
We have read many novels in our class this year. My personal favorite is “My Brothers Voice”. I have learned many things from that book. It was A very good book. It was about a young boy who had to sufer for being jewish and his whole family died. He was a Holocaust survior and he and his brother were being starved. His brother died a little later. Mr. Nasser pushed himself and made him self remember his brothers smile. That is what kept him going for so long.
I have learned many things from this book. The most important thing i have learned is that even it seems like your life can’t get any worse you still have to keep going. You have to know that even if your whole family is gone they are still watching and if you are doing good they will be proud. You have to cherish the little thing in life and know that you may have something someone else dosn’t and you have to be greatful of that.
I learned a lot from Mr.Nasser’s book. I am greatful that i got to read it. I am so glad i read the book because now i cherish the little things in life.
The novel that we read this year that i enjoyed was ” My Brothers Voice “. I think it was a much better book than the other ones that we read. It was a every interesting book , At first i thought i wasn’t going to like it but than we when we started reading it. It was a great book, i just wanted to read and read i was not every happy when I had to go to my next period.
I think it was a great book because the holocaust was something that really happened in life. Also i like it because the way the author expressed himself make me feel like i was in the holocaust and it also made me feel his pain. And when in the book it said
” You don’t know what you have until you have lost it” his right. Now that i have read the book it has changed the way I see life now.
From reading this book i have learned , To be happy for what you have in life and to appreciated it , because some people don’t have nothing in life. also I learned to never give up and always keep your head up even if life through you something that you can’t handle . That’s why i really enjoyed this book.
This year I have read several novels in my reading class. The novel I enjoyed the most is “My Brothers Voice”.By Stephan Nasser.Ive learned a lot of things from reading My Brothers Voice it is a very interesting book. And shows you to always keep trying and never give up no matter what. Also to keep to believing in your self and be confident. Another thing i learned from reading was the best thing you have is God and your family. Pista never quit or let those Nazis kill him.He kept on moving forward and that’s what every one should do with there lives. The Nazis killed Pistas older brother Andris.Who Pista loved so much. But with confidence and determination anything is possible. Pista kept moving forward and he soon survived the Holocaust. It shows me that I keep trying and determine myself to do my best anything is possible. That’s why my favorite novel we read is “MY Brothers Voice.” And that’s what i learned from it.Thank you for coming to Molasky.
Mr. Nasser:
I was priviledged to read your book, and your book, along with several others I have read about Poland and other countries during WWII, peaked my interest to the point where my husband and several others are going to be going to Poland and Hungary next summer. We are looking forward to seeing the places we have read about. I have heard about you because Joan McCloskey, the woman you were on the cruise with to Iceland, etc., is my first cousin! She and her husband Dick were the ones who gave me your book to read. It is a fascinating book; I couldn’t put it down. I am passing it on to my son who does WWII presentations for school classes, as I know he will enjoy reading about your life. Thank you so much for the book. It is a wonderful gift.
Dear Mr. Nasser Today I went and saw you. I think what you said was truly sad. It made me feel that I need to be more connected to my family. Because we don’t spend enough time together .I think I could spend more time with my family because all of that could be taken from me in an instant. I think it’s crazy that he has given 608 talks to people all across the world.
I can’t believe that you survived that whole ordeal. It amazes me that out of 21 people in his family you are the only person that survived and made it out. I don’t know how you can tell that story over and over with out breaking down. I think you are a very strong willed person and you have done what your brother told you to. Mr. Nasser you never gave up even when your brother passed away you still held up strong. you used that to push you and make it through it alive.
I think that you are an inspirational person and a lot of other people that have had hardships in their life time and didn’t have the courage to make it through. Now they have something to think of when they are going through hardships. I really appreciate that you came all the way out here to talk with us.
Sincerely Aaron Morales
Dear Mr. Nasser
Today we went and saw you Mr. Nasser the author of the book “My Brothers Voice”. When we got to Millcreek we waited for you Pista (Mr. Nasser) to arrive. When you had arrived the first thing I noticed about you was that you were a very strong looking man for being 80, probably because of all you have been through, aging and getting week won’t stop you.
When I heard your story about what you went through during the holocaust I was surprised about what a thirteen year old boy could endure. Pista you are a hero in my eyes and I’m sure in many others eyes to. Listening to your story was a very interesting thing to do. I don’t think I could ever get tired of hearing it.
I thought your speech was great I liked everything about it, the only thing that was wrong was that it was too short. I wanted to listen to your speech and all you have been through from you not from reading the book. I think you have been through more than anyone I have ever known. Your stronger than anyone I’ve ever met and also kinder than anyone I’ve ever come across in my short 16 and half years of life. Thank you Pista for sharing your story with all of us especially with me because listening and reading about you has helped me realize that I got it made. I have it better than most people in the world.
Irvin R.
Dear Mr. Nasser,
When we went to see your speech of the book ‘My Brothers Voice’ and you talked about how you survived the Holocaust. My feelings on that is sad because you has have been through a lot of things in your life like losing all your family, and seeing baby Peter and your aunt killed by an SS officer. I think you’re brave because Eddie ask me if I would have survived all that you’ve been through. and I told him no because its hard not eating that much and working a lot picking up sacks of cement up and down ladders.
I think your speech was sad because you don’t have any family you told us about how family is very important and we should appreciate because not having family is very hard. I think all teenagers should read this book. It will change the way they think. Thank you for sharing your life with us

Today I went to mill creek high school to see Mr. Nasser. He is the author of My Brothers voice. The book is about him and his childhood in a concentration camp and how he was treated and some of the tragedies that happened. I think that what he said today was very sad. It makes me think of how good my life is compared to his. He lost all of his family; some of them were massacred in front of him. He is the only one out of 21 people in his family to survive and that amazes me.
Today was his 608 talk he has made, it was really touching and some people were crying over what he has been through. He was put in a concentration camp, beat, spit on and bullied for being a Jew. He saw his aunts baby boy who was a toddler get ripped out of her hands and watched one of the SS soldiers bash his head on a train car. There is a lot of people who have had tough lives but his was horrible and very touching to me to hear him talk about it over and over and still see him cry. His hand was smashed by a SS soldier so he has hard time writing but I am very excited h signed my book and next year I hope to hear and see him again
Mr. Nasser thank you for coming to Millcreek and talking to us and telling us about your experiences, I thought it was fun to read about the experience then be able to listen to you tell the story with your own accent to it, it made the whole thing sound so much different.. I have always been interested in world war 2 so to read information about it is a lot different than hearing you tell your story about it. I also think it makes me realize how much more family is important when I heard you talk about how much you miss your family it makes me step back and say, I love my family, and that at anytime it could be ripped from you for no apparent reason. So I enjoyed having you come out to Saint George and tell your story and share how hard of an experience it was for you and then to be able to go the rest of your life without giving up, its really inspirational to hear no matter how hard something is if you put your mind to it you can make it through. I also think a lot of people interested in the Holocaust and the problems the people went through would really like this book.

Dear Mr. Nasser
I appreciate you coming to Millcreek High school. Your presentation was excellent. You have a lot of courage and bravery. There are a lot of people who I know would not be able to go through half the things you have gone through. I think it is good you are able to keep your stuff together and be able to talk about what has happened to you when you were just a little boy. I still have my family so I would not know how it would have bin to lose my whole family and watch a lot of them die. I have lost a good friend of mine but to me he is like family but it still nothing close to what you have gone through and experienced. I have a lot of respect for you. I think people should value their life more then they do and appreciate what they have in life and not complain because they have no clue what it is like to not have anything in their life and lose their whole family. I enjoyed your book you expressed the way you felt very well. Other Schools should read this because some people need to learn to value life more and appreciate what they have. Thank you very much for taking the time to come and share your experience and feelings about what has happened to you in the past.
“Never Again” best wishes to you Mr. Nasser.
Dear Stephen Nasser “Pista”,
Thank you for coming to Millcreek High School. I really enjoyed your lecture. I am terribly sorry about your brother, and the rest of your family. Though it is not as extreme as you case I am not with my family at the moment. So I kind of know what you going through. But I’m not in a concentration camp and my family’s not being killed and I don’t have to eat gemuse or get beaten often I’m still not with my family at the moment. I’m in foster care. So when you started talking about how important family is I really stopped and listened to what you had to say. But anyways I have to say you are one heck of a trooper going through everything you did. Just serving is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard. Taking food for your brother. It must have been very hard keeping this secret for so long. Knowing everything you do and not being able to share it with the world. I’m glad that you finally got it out. This story has really hit me. I have always been so interested about how it was on the inside of the camps. And thanks to you I kind of get a first hand look and feel of what it was like. So thank you for sharing you gruesome but heart filled story. Thank you for opening my eyes. And I will do all I can to never let this happen again. I think any one who gets the chance they need to read this book!

Dear Pista,
I really appreciate you coming to Millcreek and talking to us students. Your book has really made a great impact on me and my family. You are a very amazing person to be able to go through all that you’ve gone through and be able to live a great life. You are one of the strongest people I have ever met. I admire you in every way possible. Thank you so much for speaking. It is wonderful that you can go all over and speak about your experiences. I very highly respect you for what you’ve been through. Listening to your story has really showed me how much I should cherish my family.
Best wishes Nasser.
My Brothers Voice really touched me. After meeting you, I gained a lot of respect not only for you, but for Jewish people altogether. I feel that what you had to go through was very, very grotesque. I wish I could go back in time and beat someone up so you could be with your family because everyone deserves a family. I think that you are a very strong man for going through what you have. I wish everyone could hear you speak, so they could all be touched by your story. I want to thank you for coming to Millcreek High School and sharing your history with us.
NEVER EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER! AGAIN.
Dear Pista, thank you so much for coming and letting us meet you. It was a honor to meet you I am so glad I got one of your books. Thank you so much for letting us get to know you by this great book thank you very much…….
Gizelle Freeman
Hello Pista how are you? I hope good
I’m very glad that you came to Millcreek to talk to us. Your story just touches my heart and I can not tell you how sad I am for you becasue of all the things you had to go through and see, it must have been beyond terrible. You are a very strong person in my eyes, a soldier, a saint, something and someone very special condisers yourself a gift. If I were to loose as many people as you have and still be able to cope as well as you do I would be a godess. I have not really read your whole book just bits and parts but I remember hearing the very horrible greusome things that was happening during that day and age. Well Pista I just wanted to write you and let you know how proud I am of you, although I dont know you that well, you are my idol and your a very wonderful person. Give my regaurds to your wife for me to, she is very lucky to have a wonderful man like you in her life.
Thank You,
Braylan Miller
Dear Stephen Nasser,
Thank you for coming to millcreek and talking to all of us. I kinda know how you feel about being away from your family because I’m in foster care and this isn’t the first time I have been in foster care so i kinda know what if feels like to be away from your family ,it’s very hard but I dont get beaten or anything and I get good and healthy food . I’m so sorry that you had to go through all of that. I think that you didn’t deserve it no one should have to live a life like that. I’m just happy that you made it through all of that and are still alive and I’m glad that you wrote a book on how your life was like that I wouldnt have been able to go through all of that. I would have probably been tempted to kill my self knowing that my family is dying and then watching my brother die, that must have been so hard for you watch my brother die. I would cry for days. I just wouldnt be able to stand going through all of that and like i have said I’m really sorry that you had to. I wish that it never even happend. People are just mean like that and I really hope that it will never ever happen again. When you told me your story it really hit me. I never knew how important life was till now. I thought I wouldnt be able to make it through foster care with out my mom and dad but hearing your story i know I can cause it’s not even close to what you had to go through. I’m just thrilled that you shared your story with me and I really loved it and I think that everyone should read your book so then they can know how easy life. I’m just really glad that you opend up to everyone, thank you for sharing.
